GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Michael: Vincent . Yes . Good morning. How are you?
Vincent: Hi, Good, thanks. Michael , how are you?
Michael: Yeah , I'm well. Good to see you.
Vincent: Yeah, thank you.
Michael: Look, thanks for reaching out. I appreciate it. And look, I've got to ... I've got to admit it was... it was a bit of a surprise when... when you did, and I'm... but I'm glad you did.
Vincent: Yeah, well it was kind of , you know , it was kind of one of those things . I just sort of thought... I should and I did , and you were the person I thought might be good.
Michael : No thank yoy. That means a lot. We're here today because I've sort of been learning in my studies , and I wanted to make sure this is kind of structured. I mean , obviously this is informal , but it's kind of formal, so I wanted to kind of structure things as best I can. But I want you to be comfortable as well, so i don't wan to over structure things. I don't want to overburden if that kind of makes sense . We'll just go through a few preliminary things. We're not going to sign any disclaimers because obviously there is no risk of heart attack. I'm not qualified to administer mouth to mouth resuscitation or anything like that but ...
Vincent: Yeah? But you sound like a smoker.
Michael: Well so... yes, yes. Some call it a habit . I prefer to think of it as a hobby.
Vincent: Yes, fair enough.
Michael: Anyway , what I have to disclose to you is there are things that need to be disclosed and they are that this is strictly , strictly confidential. So, this recording will not be shared under any circumstances unless there is the possibility that you are at risk of harming yourself or others . Unless I feel, in my opinion that there is a risk. So far, I don't feel that this is the case. But if I do feel that is the case , then I will share the recordings with others. So that's the first thing. And so , you have to understand that that's just the way things are. And secondly, we will continue these sessions and obviously money will not be changing hands , but we will continue these sessions, you know , indefinitely because I, in my studies , have decided to adhere to the strict Freudian school. Strict Freudian school is amongst other things that you know... that it's ... Ah open ended . And they make you pay for the sessions you miss. But in our case , it kind of doesn't work that way.
Vincent : But I can't do that.
Michael : Well no
Vincent: It's kind of weird.
Michael: But we will go ...What I need to be sure of in our sessions is that you are fully reclined.
Vincent: No.
Michael: Yes...so where are you? Do you have a couch?
Vincent: Yes.
Michael: Can I be assured in fact? Can you send me photos?
Vincent: Yes.
Michael: Do. Because that way...
Vincent: Do I need to be wearing anything?
Michael: Yes.
